Why Isn’t the Homeopathic Remedy Working for Me?

Why Isn’t the Homeopathic Remedy Working for Me?

Case Scenario: Broken Ankle

I recently consulted with a client that fell down the steps and broke her ankle. Our plan was to take Arnica Montana (Arn) as an anti-inflammatory and Bryonia Alba (Bry) for pain worse movement. We discussed the dosage schedule she was going to follow. I further explained that she could expect her pain level to be down to zero within 7 days. I also told her that if her pain level was not down in 7 days; it usually means that the bones are not healing correctly (misaligned) and she would need to go back to her doctor.

On our follow up call, she reported how amazed she was that after taking a couple of doses of Arn and Bry her pain level decreased dramatically. I told her to continue taking Arn and Bry when her pain level increased (dosage), which may mean 2-3 times a day.

Two days later, she called to tell me she was starting to have more pain. She said,” I don’t understand my pain level was much better yesterday than today. Why isn’t the Homeopathic remedy working for me today? The doctor told me that within 2-3 days, I should be able to put weight on my foot.” I am in such pain, I don’t want to even move. We discussed how often she was administering Arn and Bry and if her pain level was better after taking the remedies. I asked her to describe the pain; has the pain changed in anyway (throbbing or shooting pain)? She stated that she had a very slight throb or pulsating. I then recommended she increase the succussions on Arn and Bry bottle from 11 to 12 succussions. I told her that if she was not seeing improvement after taking Arn and Bry with 12 succussions, I wanted her to check in with her emotions and see how she was feeling emotionally. We scheduled a follow-up call later that day to check on how she was doing.

Later, on that follow up call she reported that the pain level was ever so slightly better after taking Arn and Bry with 12 succussions. I asked her how she was feeling emotionally about breaking her ankle? She said other than the pain not decreasing, I guess I am doing okay. Then, seeking additional information I asked how she was feeling (emotionally) a few days ago when she broke her ankle. She said “I felt lonely and wanted someone to sit and talk to me.” My husband couldn’t sit and talk to me, he had to tend to the children. I told her to take 1 dose of Pulsatilla (Puls) for feeling lonely and return to Arn and Bry with the 11 succussions when her pain level increased. I also told her that if her pain did not improve with the Puls, she needed to have her doctor examine at her ankle.

Later that evening she left me a message saying “I took Puls right after our call and definitely felt an improvement in pain. I didn’t have pain again until 7:30 PM and took Arn and Bry with 11 succussions. I felt more of an improvement after that dose too. Puls for the win!”

Just because you are not getting results with Homeopathy, doesn’t mean it doesn’t work. Homeopathy is a medical science, that has been around since the early 1800’s. We still to this day follow the same principles that Dr. Samuel Hahnemann set for Homeopathy back then.

You see the Arn and Bry were not improving her pain anymore, because her emotional state (i.e., the loneliness) needed to be addressed.
