Gallbladder attacks can be a painful and distressing experience, often resulting from issues such as gallstones or inflammation. As individuals seek effective relief from these conditions, homeopathy has emerged as a potential treatment option. By utilizing homeopathic principles, individuals may find a holistic pathway to managing their gallbladder health.

Have You Ever Had Gallbladder Symptoms Like This?

My client called me stating that she thinks she is having a gallbladder attack. She’s experiencing pain on the right side of theabdominal area that moved around to her back and has settled on her right shoulder blade (scapula). She said, “I know when someone has pain on the right shoulder blade, it means the gallbladder is stressed out.” She stated that she didn’t have much of an appetite for breakfast or lunch today because she is feeling nauseous. Though she is not to the point of vomiting. My client told me she has a headache on the right side of the head that goes down behind the right ear and right shoulder blade.

I selected the homeopathic remedy Chelidonium Majus 30c to be taken every 30 to 60 minutes until the gallbladder pain starts to let up. I said once the gallbladder symptoms start to improve back off from taking the Chelidonium and at that point she will only repeat the Chelidonium when the gallbladder symptoms become worse again.

My client called me the next day stating thatshe only needed two doses of Chelidonium until she started to feel improvement with the gallbladder pain. She stated that as the day progressed yesterday the pain started to move back to the right side of her abdominal area. She also told me the nausea improved to the point that she was able to eat a little bit of food. My client said yesterday, she did sip hot lemon water throughout the day. Today the gallbladder symptoms are pretty much gone and she’s able to eat normal food for breakfast and lunch. I told her to repeat the Chelidonium if and when the gallbladder symptoms start to return.

I asked her if she had any fried or greasy food before the gallbladder symptoms started. She told me that she eats a very clean diet which does not include fried or greasy food. My client went on to tell me she has been craving more avocados and nuts recently. I explained to my client that even though you do not consume any fried or greasy foods, avocados and nuts still fall into the category of fats. When the gallbladder becomes stressed out mentally or physically it struggles to process greasy fried foods as well as healthy fats such as those found in avocados and nuts.

I asked her if she has had any kind of stress going on in her life for the last couple of months. She said nothing stressful has been going on, except for exciting stuff. That is when she told me that she and her husband are drawing up floor plans to build a house these last few months. I explained to my client that by making big plans, or decisions in life, the gallbladder can be affected by draining, drawing or robbing the gallbladder energy when you are consistently needing to make decisions. I told her for many years I have been conducting my own little survey on the number of teachers that I consulted with who have gallbladder issues. Why? Because they have to do daily lesson plans on what they’re going to be teaching the class the next day. All that planning on a daily basis robs the gallbladder’s energy. I did explain that you don’t have to be a teacher to have gallbladder issues. When you have gallbladder symptoms making daily decisions such as what to wear today, what to make for breakfast, lunch or dinner, planning a trip all affects your gallbladder energy. I suggested to her that when she and her husband work on the house plans it would be best if they set aside a block of time to work on them, instead of discussing the houseplans sporadically throughout the day. This way, she’s not affecting how well her gallbladder is working. I also told my client that if she continues to have gallbladder problems it would be in her best interest to have a complete health history taken to help select a 6c homeopathic remedy to address why she keeps having gallbladder symptoms.

What is the Role of Your Gallbladder?

Your gallbladder is a small pear-shaped organ that stores and releases bile, a fluid your liver produces which helps you digest (breaks down) fats in the food you eat. The gallbladder is sitting just under your liver which is located in the upper right part of your abdomen, below your rib cage. Your gallbladder’s main function is to store bile. Your bile is mainly made up of a mixture of cholesterol, bilirubin and bile salts. Your gallbladder is connected to other parts of your digestive system through a series of bile ducts (biliary tract). The biliary tract (a pipe-like system) carries the bile from your liver to your small intestines, where it mixes with your food waiting to be digested.

Gallbladder Symptoms

You may not even know that you have gallstones because you don’t feel any symptoms until a gallstone blocks the flow of bile, affecting your gallbladder or pancreas. You may experience the following gallbladder symptoms:

  • Pain in your upper right abdominal area and or in your upper mid abdominal area
  • The pain in your upper right abdominal area radiates to your right shoulder or back
  • You have pain in the gallbladder area after eating a fatty fried or greasy meal, avocados or nuts
  • Your skin or the whites of your eyes are yellow (jaundice)
  • You have nausea and vomiting
  • You may have fever and chills
  • Your pee may be a light brown color, or your poop is a light or very dark (black) color

Homeopathic Remedy for Gallbladder Symptoms You are Having After Surgery

A client recently called me about having gallbladder symptoms she’s been having for the last couple of months, ever since having her gallbladder removed. She said she’s been feeling very bloated with trapped gas where she’s not able to burp or pass the gas. I selected the homeopathic remedy China Officinalis 30c to be taken daily for what’s called “Etiology – never well since” having gallbladder surgery.

My client called me a few days later stating that she is starting to feel a little better since taking China. She’s not as bloated as she has been feeling now that she’s been able to pass gas either by burping (belching) or flatulence (farting). I told my client to continue taking China every night at bedtime until she no longer has the gallbladder removal symptoms. I also suggested that she may want to have her health history taken to help select a 6c homeopathic remedy for who she is that had to have her gallbladder removed.

Common Issues That Can Affect Your Gallbladder

Several conditions which usually can cause your gallbladder to act up and, in some cases, have the gallbladder removed:

  • Gallstones (hardened pebble-like deposits of bile) develop in your gallbladder or bile ducts
  • Cholecystitis is inflammation of your gallbladder that occurs when a gallstone blocks bile from exiting your gallbladder
  • Gallstone pancreatitis is inflammation of your pancreas, which can occur when a gallstone travels down the common bile duct and blocks your pancreatic duct
  • Gallbladder cancer though is rare, you may feel pain in your right upper quadrant of the abdomen

Homeopathic Gallbladder Remedies

There are several homeopathic remedies for gallbladder issues that can be taken acutely when you have gallbladder symptoms. I suggest when you have recurring gallbladder symptoms that you consider having a complete health history taken to put you on a 6c homeopathic remedy to address why you are having gallbladder issues.

What Does Having a Complete Homeopathic Health History Entail?

Homeopathy can support you with gallbladder symptoms:

  1. A chronic fundamental homeopathic remedy is selected for “who you are” and “how you developed gallbladder symptoms”.
    1. This is best done by seeking out a trained and certified homeopath in chronic case taking. They would proceed to take a complete health history, getting a snapshot of how the your general health is from birth to the present time.
    2. However, the main focus would be on what was going on in your life prior to you developing gallbladder issues. Looking back at the last 6-12 months of your life for stress (i.e. relationships, work related, financial, or caring for a loved one).
    3. And consider other physical gallbladder symptoms you are having such as gallstones and what their diet consists of.
  2. A Homeopathic Remedy is Administered to Help Your Gallbladder
  3. A 6c chronic fundamental homeopathic remedy will be taken daily with 10 succussions for a period of time.

When you continue having reoccurring gallbladder symptoms or had your gallbladder removed, seek out a qualified homeopath to help you regain your health again by addressing your gallbladder symptoms.
