Here is a Case Scenario Explaining How Homeopathic Remedies Can Address Your Tailbone Injury That May Be Causing You to Have Headache, Anxiety, and Sleep Problems.
Case Scenario: My client consults with me about her reoccurring tailbone pain, she’s had for many years from when she fell. She stated she usually has pain and stiffness in her tailbone, that is better when she moves and applies heat on the area. However, when the condition has become overwhelming, all she wants to do is lie down, because the pain is so excruciating when she moves. She said sometimes she will get a shooting pain up her back. I asked her what happen years ago when she fell? She stated when she was 13-years old, she fell ice skating and landed right on her butt (tailbone). When she fell down the pain went right up her spine and into her neck. It felt like it radiated into my brain. I asked if she experiences reoccurring headaches (migraine) and pain. She stated she gets intense migraines several times a year. The typical medications for headaches (migraine) don’t work for her. She has to take Imitrex to help relieve the intense pain. I asked when did she start to have these kinds of headaches? She told me they started when she was around 14-15 years old. The doctors always thought it was hormonal because she started menstruating around age 13. I told her, I think when she fell on the ice, it caused a head injury and that is why she has the headaches (migraines). She has what we call in Homeopathy “Never Well Since” falling on the ice. I explained to her we will address her tailbone pain now. There will come a time when she starts having headaches, we will then need to address the headaches and the head injury.
After asking my client a few more questions, I selected the following four Homeopathic Remedies: Arnica Montana, Rhus Toxicodendron, Bryonia Alba and Hypericum to be taken for acute symptom relief. Each Homeopathic Remedy targets specific key symptoms in accordance with their respective indications. My client started taking Arnica and Bryonia since at the time of the consultation her tailbone pain was worse when she moved around. I had her take Arnica 1m and Bryonia 1m in a Remedy Solution Bottle (RSB) with 10 succussions (taps) several times a day when the tailbone pain intensified with movement. I also told her to take Hypericum 30c pellets when she has the shooting pain.
Two days later, she reported to me, the Arnica and Bryonia has drastically decreased her pain that was worse when she moved. Now she is noticing more stiffness in the tailbone that feels better when she moves around, or after taking a shower. I explained to her, now she needs to take Arnica 1m and Rhus Toxicodendron for her tailbone symptoms three times a day for the stiffness with 10 succussions. Arnica and Rhus Toxicodendron is for symptoms she described that occurs when she has sat too long or has done a lot of walking. I told my client she will continue taking Arnica and Rhus Toxicodendron three times a day until she no longer has the tightness and or stiffness in her tailbone. My client also stated that she only needed to take two doses of Hypericum for the shooting pain on the first day she took the Arnica and Bryonia and hasn’t needed to take any more of the Homeopathic Remedy.
I shared with her, needing to take Arnica and Rhus Toxicodendron is a good sign. It means her tailbone symptoms are moving back to her original symptoms she had when she fell on the ice and injured her tailbone. I explained to her that the sooner she can identify the onset of Arnica and Rhus Toxicodendron symptoms (pain and stiffness), the better she will be at managing them, especially when she applies heat. This will significantly reduce the likelihood of her tailbone symptoms escalating to a more severe level of pain, which is exacerbated by movement. The combination of Arnica and Bryonia symptoms is the least likely to worsen. I also explained to her, not needing any more of the Hypericum means the nerves in her spine are improving too. She will repeat Hypericum when she has shooting pains (nerve pain).
I then went on and explained the big picture of how her tailbone symptoms will play out over the next several weeks. She will return to Arnica and Rhus Toxicodendron when her stiffness in her tailbone is better when she applies heat and with movement. If her pain becomes so intense that it is worse with any kind of movement, she will return to Arnica and Bryonia and take several times a day when the pain intensifies. When she gets a migraine, we will select a Homeopathic Remedy according to her symptoms she is experiencing. At some point, the Homeopathic Remedy will address her migraine pain and will be able to replace her Imitrex medication. There will also come a time when the selected Homeopathic Migraine Remedy will not address her migraine, which is when we will address the reason she has the reoccurring migraine from when she fell on the ice on her tailbone, causing the head injury. At that time, she will take the two Homeopathic Remedies Arnica and Natrum Sulphuricum for the “Never Well Since” falling on her tailbone.
