Conjunctivitis

I am thrilled to share with you the incredible benefits of using Homeopathic Remedies for treating pink eye conjunctivitis! Homeopathy offers a natural, gentle, and effective approach to relieving the symptoms associated with this uncomfortable condition.

Does This Sound Like Your Child’s Pink Eye?

My client calls me up, stating her 2 ½ year old son has Conjunctivitis (pink eye) in his right eye. She stated the white of his eye is a reddish pink, and he is constantly itching it. She said, “I think his eye may feel a little gritty because he cries after rubbing his eye. After asking a few questions, I selected the Homeopathic Remedy Silica 200c to be taken once a day at bedtime in a Homeopathic Remedy Solution Bottle (RSB) with 10 succussions.

My client reported back to me three days later, stating that her son’s eyes are about 50% better. He very rarely rubs his eyes, and when he does, he’s not crying afterwards. The whites of his eyes are about 75% cleared up. I advised my client to continue administering Silica 200c every night at bedtime until the eye symptoms are completely gone.

What is Pink Eye (Conjunctivitis)?

Pink Eye is when the whites of your eyes, called the Sclera, become very irritated, pinkish to red discoloration, and can be itchy. What happens is the Conjunctiva (the clear tissue that lines the inside surface of your eyelid and the outer coating of your eye) becomes inflamed (red), commonly from allergies, bacteria, or a viral infection. The eye symptoms can occur in one or both of your eyes. Pink Eye is contagious when it has occurred from a bacterial or viral infection, which is spread from person to person from contact such as touching, sharing towel, washcloth, etc., and is very common in children and can occur in adults too.

Other Pink Eye Symptoms:

  • Swollen eyelids
  • Droopy eyelids
  • Eyes feel sandy or gritty
  • Discharge (fluid) from the eye(s) can be either watery, white, yellow, or green
  • Thick yellow crusting on eyelashes or lids, especially after sleeping
  • Itchy eyes, especially from allergies
  • Eyes sensitive to light
  • Burning of eyes, especially from chemicals or irritants such as shampoo, cosmetics, contact lens
  • Blurred vision

Common Homeopathic Remedies for Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye)

You will select a 30c or 20c Homeopathic Remedy according to the eye symptoms being exhibited, along with what makes the eye symptoms feel better or worse. The selected Homeopathic Remedy is administered one or more times a day when the symptoms become more intense. Pink Eye will start to improve within 24 to 48 hours after taking a Homeopathic Remedy, such as less itching of the eye and the ability to see more of the white portion of the eye and less pinkish red. The Homeopathic Remedy will also help address the reoccurring Pink Eye.

  • Aconite: The eye(s) is red and sensitive to light. They can feel hot and dry.
  • Apis: The eyelids are red and swollen and may look like water bags. The eye(s) may burn, sting, and have shooting pains in eyes. The eye(s) feels better when applyinga cold compress on it.
  • Argentum Nitricum: The eyes discharge a white, yellow mucus. The eye(s) can have a granular feeling to it.

  • Euphrasia Officinalis: The child has Conjunctivitis with Measles. The eye(s) has profuse, hot, and acrid (burn) tears, as well as a granular (sand) feeling. The eye symptoms are worse in open air and bright lights. The child may have a frequent inclination to blink. You may have sticky mucous on the cornea (clear, dome-shaped covering at the front of each of your eyes), and must blink to remove it.
  • Pulsatilla: Pink Eye with a thick yellow bland discharge from eye(s). The eye(s) burn, itch, and must rub eyes. The eyes feel like there is sand in the eye(s). The eyelid(s) are inflamed and stick together (agglutinated).
