Infertility (Sterility) Case Scenario – Agnus Castus

A man and his partner have been trying to conceive a baby for the past 1 ½ years. Six months ago, they found out the reason why they have not been able to conceive is because he has low sperm count of 13.5 million per mL, and is considered to be infertile. And unable to conceive.

In looking at his infertility symptoms, he has difficulty in maintaining an erection and low sex drive. He has been feeling depressed for the past 2 years, since he lost his father, and more so since the doctor diagnosed him as having infertility. He has been absent minded and forgetful. He also has a fear that something bad will happen (nervous depression). The homeopathic remedy Agnus Castus would be selected in a case like this, to be taken daily as a 6c potency. Agnus Castus will help the man’s depressed state along with increasing his sex drive and sperm count in order to conceive a child.

Using Homeopathy for Infertility (Sterility)

In Homeopathy, there are several homeopathic remedies to specifically help with infertility (sterility) symptoms, such as low sperm count and erectile dysfunction. When addressing male infertility with Homeopathy, you want have the man’s complete health history to see why the man has developed infertility. You are looking for the physical symptoms the man exhibits related to the infertility, such as any affect in his sexual performance and low sperm count. Along with his physical infertility symptoms, you want to know his mental and emotional state (i.e., is he overwhelmed, irritable or depressed) and any other physical symptoms he may have, such as digestive, or skin related issues to get a full picture of his health history. In doing so, you are looking for a Homeopathic Remedy for what may have led to his infertility. The selected 6c Homeopathic Remedy will address why the man has developed infertility and his infertility symptoms (i.e., low sperm count and sexual performance issues), and will be taken daily. The selected Homeopathic Remedy will address his infertility symptoms (i.e., increase the sperm count and improve his sexual performance) and why he has developed the infertility. Sometimes the selected Homeopathic Remedy used to address why he has developed infertility (i.e., depression and anxiety) and his infertility symptoms (i.e., low sperm count and sexual performance) are not the same Homeopathic Remedy. In a case like this, when the 6c homeopathic remedy he is taking for why he developed the infertility symptoms does not improve the infertility physical symptoms (such as low sperm count or sexual symptoms); he will also take a 6c Homeopathic Remedy daily specifically for the low sperm count or sexual performance issues, along with the 6c remedy for why he has this health condition.

The Difference Between Infertility and Sterility

Infertility and sterility are often used to mean the same thing. However, they can both have 2 different meanings.

What can Cause Male Infertility (Sterility)

There are various reasons why a man may have infertility such as:

  • Genetic Defects such as:

      2. Kallman Syndrome – Unable to produce certain hormones that can impact sexual development
      3. Cystic Fibrosis (CF) – Genetic changes in the gene for CF can affect the development of the vas deferens, which would not allow for sperm to be transported
      4. Y Chromosome Microdeletions – Missing areas of the Y chromosomes, which contains genes that are involved in the growth and development of the sperm, may have little or no sperm production
      5. Chromosome Rearrangements – Has an increased chance to pass down too much or too little chromosomal material, which could impact the ability to conceive a pregnancy, increase the risk of pregnancy loss, or result in offspring with birth defects or intellectual differences
